"Staging a Production of *Searching for Romeo*"

Grant in Aid of Research

Final Report: "In Fall of 2011, the UWGB Research Council approved a grant of $800 for me to use toward expenses for a production of my musical comedy Searching for Romeo. I used the funds to pay Brandon Rockstroh for his work on the project. Brandon is the choir director and the director of the annual school musical at Southwest High School; I originally hired him to be musical director and pianist (both during rehearsals and during performances) for Searching for Romeo. He was to receive $500 for his work as musical director and another $500 for his work as a pianist. This is perhaps one-fourth the money he would make for similar work in the public schools, but he liked my script and my music and was excited to be working on the world premiere of an original musical comedy, so he was willing to work for the reduced rate."
