VA PAYMENTS
Each deposit or check you receive is payment for the previous month.
For example, October's check is for attendance during September.
Unless you request otherwise, the VA will automatically continue
your GI Bill during the December-January break period, if you are
enrolled at least half-time. Monthly payments will be sent to your
account or address. Students under most GI Bill Chapters can expect
their benefits during the first week of each month. It usually takes
about six weeks for most new students or transfers to receive their
initial payment. Payment amounts are based on "Chapter" and credit
Load. See www.gibill.va.gov
for payment schedule.

ADVANCE PAY
You may request that your first normal payment be paid in "advance," if you are not certified for continuous
pay. You must request advance pay, in writing, at least 30 days before the beginning of a term. A check will
be sent to the Veteran Coordinator's Office for you to pick up during the first week of the term. Please see
the Veteran's Coordinator to get this process started. Remember, though, if you choose the Advance, your
second payment will come about two months later instead of one month.
Wisconsin Veteran Benefits
Wisconsin benefit programs are available through the Wisconsin
Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Wisconsin Department
of Military Affairs. They require certification by both the
State and the UW-Green Bay Veterans' Office. Contact the UW-GB
Veterans Coordinator in Room 1000C, or call 920-465-2065. The
e-mail link is veterans@uwgb.edu.
The Brown County Veterans' Service Office is a required resource
for some benefit programs--visit their Web site at www.co.brown.wi.us/Veterans
