Louise Witherell

Louise Witherell Professor, Human Studies 5/27/1990 Wauwatosa - Louise R. Witherell,  Ph.D.

She was born on April 18, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio and died January 16, 2018, in Wauwatosa, WI. Louise completed her undergraduate degree at Toledo University and her doctorate in 20th Century French Literature at University of Wisconsin. She married John M. Witherell and they had two daughters Anne (Elaine) Witherell and Jane Martell (Mark). Louise taught at UW Extension Fox Valley and retired as Full Professor from UW-Green Bay. She participated in the Girl Scouts of America as a scout and as a leader. She also was a member of Wednesday Musicale. In retirement, she was a piano student of Roman Kontorovsky, a member of the Modern Language Association, the Older Women's League and Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church. She was a resident of Luther Manor.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 12 Noon until the time of service at 2 PM at WAUWATOSA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 2366 N. 80th Street, Milwaukee. Interment will be held at 11 AM Monday January, 29, 2018, at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton, WI.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
