Small Business Institute
Co-sponsored with Programs in Business Administration
The Small Business Institute (SBI) offers personalized, confidential business assistance through the efforts of upper-class business students. The team works with you on a project of your choice. These teams are under direct faculty and/or staff supervision.
Since 1984, over 175 local businesses and 500 students have participated in the SBI program through the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Students receive credit and Green Bay area businesses receive assistance and support for new projects, new ideas and new ventures.
What the SBI Can Do For You:
- analyze business operations
- provide analysis and research of new ideas
- provide statistical information for market analysis
- provide a comprehensive written report with recommendations for improvement
SBI projects include assistance with business systems, such as:
- accounting systems
- business plan preparation
- marketing strategies
- market analysis
- record keeping systems
- employee training
- business surveys
- aid in selling to the government
- computer systems
- aid in identifying international markets
What some of the SBI clients have said about their projects and students:
"Students did an excellent job. Creative work was good."
"Student has a very good grasp of business. It's no wonder that her own business is doing so well!"
"It is obvious they worked very hard to meet our objectives and expectations - which they did. A great value! I have and will continue to recommend the program."
