Small Business Resources within an Easy Reach

There are many organizations that will provide helpful information for start-up operations and existing small businesses. This listing is not comprehensive, but a preliminary overview for the Green Bay Area.

Advance Business Development Center (Incubator)

Supports small business development in the region with rental space and technical assistance for start-up and expanding businesses. Business support services provide added value for the tenants.

Business Assistance Center

Eight partners, including the SBDC, providing entrepreneurial services.

Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce

Serves the needs of members and promotes the regional economy.

NWTC Center for Entrepreneurship

facilitates entrepreneurship training for new or existing businesses. Several certificates in Entrepreneurship and an Associate Degree in Entrepreneurship are offered through the school.

Regional Economic Development Corporations

Provides direct assistance to business owners in relocation and expansion projects. They are especially helpful in location and financing issues, and in identifying specific resources in the community. Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)

A voluntary team of retired executives who meet individually to discuss start-up opportunities and business concerns. The advisors draw on their own extensive corporate experiences and knowledge of resources in the community.

Urban Hope Entrepreneur Center

UHEC offers a unique entrepreneurship training and development series that prepares individuals for self-sufficiency through empowerment for those who want to discover the opportunities of becoming an entrepreneur.

WBD Finance Corporation

Wisconsin Business Development Finance Corporation is a private, not-for-profit corporation created in 1981 to assist Wisconsin businesses to gain access to capital, create jobs and promote community development. Working with our partners, WBD tailors financing packages to meet customer needs.

Wisconsin Department of Commerce

Request an excellent information packet for start-ups in Wisconsin, discuss business permits and licenses, get an outline of financial programs as well as a listing of publications and conferences.

WMEP

WMEP provides technical expertise and hands-on implementation assistance to small and midsize manufacturing firms on strategic reposition, lean services, business process excellence, and lean supplier alignment.
