
LARRY SMITH
Professor
Specializing in cultural and ecological economics, Larry Smith teaches courses on sustainable development, the
third world, the history of economic thought, and
Central America and the Caribbean. He is the author (along with the late Tony Galt) of Models and Social Change,
a key text for
program teaching. He has interests in domestic and international
resource management, ecosystem rehabilitation,
development, and population and fertility, as well as in
population and fertility. He is co-author with Galt of article
in latter area. Professor Smith has international experience in Central
America, Thailand, and Italy.
