Understanding Data Communications and Networks

As I prepare for the 4th edition I would like your opinion regarding possible changes. I have designed this simple survey around three basic questions:

What topics should be removed (or significantly reduced) for the 4th edition. I really don't want the book to get any longer so if I add some more topics I'm certainly going to have to remove others.
What topics should be included (or significantly expanded)?
What chapters should be reorganized? Topics moved?

Move Digital Carriers (Section 4.6) to Chapter 13.

Divide Chapter 7 into two chapters: Encryption Algorithms and Security Issues

Divide Chapter 11 into two chapters: Internet protocols and Transport Protocols & Applications

Remove one or more applications from Chapter 12. Please specify which ones.
