Dr. David Bruno will be a visiting professor in the program, teaching BSW and MSW courses. He received a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling from Wayne State University. He also holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Art in Marriage and Family Psychology from Wayne State University.
Dr. Bruno has practiced with children and families for seventeen years in the areas of individual, marital, and family counseling. His direct practice interests include marital counseling, as well as working with persons experiencing reactive depression.
Dr. Bruno has taught social work students at the University of North Dakota, as well as the University of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia, Canada. His research interests include: mentorship with youth and family response; youth cognitive styles and its relation to depressive features; and, qualitative research on the affective experience of persons with severe and chronic physical disabilities.
