Ms Groessl serves students primarily in the graduate (collaborative) social work program. She earned her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Her social work practice experience includes: Clinical Supervisor and previous Psychiatric Social Worker for the Brown County Human Services Department; Mental Health Coordinator for Kewaunee County Community Programs; and a Nursing Home Social Worker for Beverly Enterprises.

Joan currently serves as the former President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and has held a number of other volunteer positions with WI-NASW. In addition, she is involved in local government (Algoma) and was voted the 2007 Volunteer of the Year by the Kewaunee County Human Services Department.
