Ms. Larkey, as of Fall, 2002, serves as Coordinator of Field Education and is a full time Lecturer in the Social Work Professional Program. She also has had a past appointment as a part-time ad hoc Instructor in the Social Work Professional Program in 1996-1997.
Community Involvement/Past Positions:
Past relevant employment includes: Hospital Social Work, Adolescent and Family Therapy, Psychotherapy in a non-profit agency and in private practice, Clinical Director in a counseling agency, Certified Encore Specialist providing bio-psycho-social services to cancer survivors, and Social Work with a Home Health Agency. Ms. Larkey served as a Field Instructor for the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Social Work program beginning in 1993 to 2002. Community involvement includes: Membership on the Boards of St. Vincent Hospital Institutional Review Board, Visiting Nurses of Family Service Association, American Cancer Society, and Positive Voice; participation in cancer-supportive activities including Reach to Recovery Volunteer, chair annual Relay For Life Team, Lead annual retreat for cancer survivors; member of Peace and Social Justice Committee; public speaking on a variety of topics including Mental Health, Relationship Issues, Spirituality, Women's Issues, Chronic Illness, and Grief.
Areas of Special Interest:
Issues of concern to women, children and families; chronic and terminal illness; empowerment of the vulnerable; spirituality, resiliency, and peach and social justice.
