The Curriculum

Program actions:

Business Administration - establish a new 12 credit certificate program in Entrepreneurship, approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean, and Provost for Fall 2012.

Business Administration - establish a new area of emphasis in General Business, approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean, AAC, and Provost for Fall 2012.

Business Administration - change requirements for the Management emphasis in the BUA major by adding BUA 468 International Human Resources Management and BUA 499 Travel Course and deleting BUA 384 Production/Operations Management and BUA 386 Field Project in Business Management, approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean, AAC, and Provost for Fall 2012.

Economics conducted a self-study that has been reviewed by the AAC, the Dean, and the Provost and reported to UW-System.

Education conducted a self-study of its Masters in Applied Leadership and Teaching program that has been reviewed by the AAC, the Dean, and the Provost and reported to UW-System.

English conducted a self-study that has been reviewed by the AAC, the Dean with a report to the Chair, and the Provost and reported to UW-System.

Natural and Applied Sciences conducted a self-study on its Environmental Science program that has been reviewed by the AAC, the Dean with a report to the Chair, and the Provost and reported to UW-System.

History - change in requirements by adding HIST 309 US Immigration History to list of upper-level options in Category I (American History), approved by Chairs of History and SCD, and Provost for Fall 2012.

Social Work conducted a self-study on its Masters of Social Work program that has been reviewed by the AAC, the Dean, and the Provost and reported to UW-System.

Course actions:

ART 198 From One Many: Repetition in Art and Design - experimental first-year seminar course, approved by AVD Chair, GEC for writing emphasis and Fine Arts requirement, and LAS Dean for Fall 2011.

ART 309 Intermediate Painting: Oil Painting - new course, approved by Chairs of Art and AVD, LAS Dean, and Provost for Fall 2012.

ART 310 Intermediate Painting: Media Exploration - new course, approved by Chairs of Art and AVD, LAS Dean, and Provost for Fall 2012.

BUA 308 Qualitative Business Methods - minor change in number (392), title (to Qualitative Methods in Entrepreneurship), and description, approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean and Provost for Fall 2012.

BUA 306 Quantitative Business Methods - minor change in number (393), title (to Quantitative Methods in Entrepreneurship), and description approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean and Provost for Fall 2012.

BUA 391 Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Innovation - new course approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean, AAC, and Provost for Fall 2011.

BUA 394 Becoming an Entrepreneur - new course approved by Chair of BUA, PGS Dean, AAC, and Provost for Fall 2011.

COMP SCI 350 Scientific Computing – course becomes inactive, approved by Chairs of Computer Science and ICS and LAS Dean for Fall 2011.

COMP SCI 352 Computer Graphics and Animation – minor change in periodicity, approved by Chairs of Computer Science and ICS and LAS Dean for Fall 2011.

COMP SCI 370 Linux System Programming – minor change in periodicity, approved by Chairs of Computer Science and ICS and LAS Dean for Fall 2011.

COMP SCI 371 Advanced Object Oriented Design using C++ - minor change in periodicity, approved by Chairs of Computer Science and ICS and LAS Dean for Fall 2011.

EDUC 783X Einstein Science Institute: Astronomy/Meteorology – an experimental course approved by Chair of Education and PGS Dean for Summer 2011.

EDUC 783X Designing an Astronomy or Meteorology Unit – an experimental course approved by Chair of Education and PGS Dean for Summer 2011.

EDUC 783X Music Education Seminar I – an experimental course approved by Chair of Education and PGS Dean for Summer 2011.

GERMAN 285 German - Travel Abroad - minor change making an inactive course active, approved by Chairs of Modern Languages and HUS and LAS Dean for Summer 2011.

HUB 483X Cancer Biology (and Lab) – experimental course approved by HUB Chair and LAS Dean for Spring 2012.

HUD 370 Personal Relationships - new course, approved by HUD Chair, LAS Dean, AAC, and Provost for Fall 2011, available for meeting requirements in the HUD major in Fall 2012.

SPAN 114 Intro to SIP IV - minor change of number (to 214) and title (to Intermediate SIP IV), approved by Chairs of Modern Languages and HUS, and LAS Dean for Fall 2012.

Personnel Practices

Faculty Senate action on review of adjuncts:

Be it resolved that all adjuncts teaching courses at UW-Green Bay be approved by the Unit responsible for that course. There must be Unit review of the adjunct’s course syllabi and course materials. In addition, all adjuncts must be evaluated, on an ongoing basis, by the approving Unit upon the completion of any course that said adjunct teaches.
