Fine Arts Learning Outcome:
An understanding of one or more of the fine arts including an understanding of the nature and functions of art and ways of evaluating art.

The catalog course description for 2D Design states: “Design studio art work and learn fundamental concepts of art structure and composition, color and design, applying the elements and principles of design.”

Art making and design is a discipline that requires research, problem solving, practice, critique, an open mind to suggestions to make the work better and you a better designer, and a developed understanding of the language and formal principles of design.
