| Iceland trip, May 2004 / 21: Just a bit under the earth's surface. The ceiling is rock, the lower part is hot water and everything in between is steam. Follow the ceiling to its peak about an inch from the top-left of the picture. All of the rock to the right of that peak is very slowly moving toward North America. The rock to the left of the peak is slowly moving toward Europe. Now that is cool. |
