The Chancellor's Advisory Council on Equality for Women is a relatively new body, chaired by the University Ombudsperson.
This body is responsible for reviewing the recommendations contained in the campus-wide document, Report on the Equality for Women, to check on progress towards implementing the recommendations.

The University Ombudsperson works with faculty, academic staff, and students to resolve disputes between and among faculty, academic staff, students, and administrators.

The issue of women in leadership is being explored at U.W. System; Louise Root-Robbins heads up this effort (http://www.uwsa.edu/acadaff/status/home.htm).

Women's Studies is a recognized, interdisciplinary minor at the University.  For more information, click on the address,

My interest in flying extends to the group begun by Amelia Earhart and 98 other women, the International Women Pilots Organization, Inc., often referred to as the 99s after the original members.  You can find more information on this group at http://www.ninety-nines.org/
Even today, less than 5% of all licensed pilots in the United States are women.
