Art Agency
Mission of Art Agency
Our objective is to promote art as an assessable activity for students of all academic interests. It is Art Agency’s purpose to be recognized as the most inventive, productive, broadly based, well-organized and rewarding student organization. Because we live in a pluralistic age where art can be found in any quarter, representing many differing philosophical, social, and technical viewpoints, the Art Agency has maintained a range of focuses in its visiting artist program.
Art Agency brings visiting artists, critics, and art historians to the campus to give lectures and workshops. These events are for the intellectual enrichment of the student body and the community. No other organization in Brown County provides such an opportunity to learn first hand from major minority, national and international artists.
The goal of Art Agency is the careful expenditure of its student segregated funds. Art Agency is one of the largest student organizations. Art Agency has increased its efforts to raise outside funds, and actively seeks funds from outside sources. Our events have consistently been very well attended which is a result of well thought out advertising and the cooperation with the faculty and staff. Other immediate goals are to increase the quality and number of lectures and workshops that we hold on campus and to increase the number of minority artists that we bring to UW-Green Bay. Art Agency has a policy to co-sponsor events with other organizations, it’s a priority we are always trying to increase shared involvement.
Art Agency has used the mission of UW-Green Bay as an organizational principle for its activities. Art Agency looks for artists who have an interdisciplinary approach and apply resources from various disciplines. Ideally, the artists who come to UW-Green Bay must be able to relate to students of all academic backgrounds. Not only are Art Agency’s events not duplicated on campus, but also no organization in Brown County offers the quality and variety of visiting artists.
