Now in its fifth year, SLKD brings together about 200
student leaders, their advisors/supervisors, and UWGB
administrators to celebrate the students’ contributions
to the campus and to challenge them to encourage their
peers to get involved. These student leaders include
University
Ambassadors, Resident Assistants, Student Government
Association, and more. This event is held the night
before Campus Move-in.

leaders—will spend the day learning about themselves,
about effective groups, and about committing to positive

Personal Leadership Assessments
All year-round
Student Life offers students the opportunity to
participate in individual leadership assessments using the Leadership Practices Inventory
and StrengthsQuest. Upon completion of an assessment, a staff member will meet with the student to review results and to plan next steps. To schedule an appointment, contact Student Life at osl@uwgb.edu or 465-2720.
Dream Out Loud Day, a Leadership Conference
2 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 24, University Union
DOLD is for beginning leaders who want to develop their
skills and for experienced student leaders who want to
sharpen theirs. The workshops are presented by students.
Watch for registration information in late fall. For
information, contact the Office of Student Life at 465-2720. Sponsored by
the Leadership Task Force.
Emerging Leadership Experience
Saturday and Sunday, March 3-4, Sturgeon Bay
This overnight program is designed for first-year students who want to get more involved but aren’t sure how to go about it. Participants will build confidence, learn about themselves, experience a challenge course, and take their skills to the next level. Students must be nominated for this experience. All nominees will receive a brief application form to complete. First-year students may nominate themselves. Send nominee names to osl@uwgb.edu. Space is limited. Selected participants will be required to pay a $20 deposit. This deposit will be refunded when the student has completed the program. Transportation, food, lodging, and all materials are provided.
