The Women’s Leadership Program is dedicated to addressing the
unique challenges that women leaders encounter in today’s world.
Become familiar with current leadership issues important to women,
acquire knowledge and leadership skills and learn to recognize and
develop your own leadership potential.
In addition to the calendar of events, you will find a number of
useful resources including a recommended reading list (look in the column on the right), links to
additional articles and information on women’s leadership, links to
campus and community resources, and online
registration for events.

Women’s Leadership Opening Reception and Keynote Address
Wednesday, September 24, 5:30-7:00 pm, Phoenix Rooms
Barbara Lawton, of Green Bay, took office as Wisconsin’s 43rd lieutenant governor on January 3, 2003 and was re-elected in 2006. Lt. Governor Lawton’s work focuses on economic development, expanding opportunities for businesses to create jobs in Wisconsin through investments in the creative and green economy sectors. Her groundbreaking economic development initiative Wisconsin Women = Prosperity received national and international recognition. Lawton was the only U.S. elected official to participate in the International Women Leaders Global Security Summit co-convened by the former president of Ireland, Mary Robinson, and former Canadian Prime Minister Kim Campbell. Join the UW-Green Bay campus community in welcoming Lt. Governor Lawton as she helps us begin the third annual Women’s Leadership Program Series. Space is limited - register online.

The Libraries Project
Help Relief International in its work with local communities in Afghanistan and Pakistan to support education and strengthen literacy through the creation of community-based libraries. The goal of the project is to create libraries that children can access easily and safely, allowing them to learn important life skills in order to build a better tomorrow. HPV (Gardasil) Vaccine
Did you know that you can get the HPV Vaccine on campus? There is a new vaccine (Gardasil) for women between the ages of 13-26 that may be effective in preventing Human Papillomavirus (HPV) strains of cervical cancer. The HPV Vaccine is available at the UWGB Counseling
and Health Center upon request. For information, contact the
