CAMPUS LIFE E-MAIL
Hello --
I am sending this message out early this year because
we have made some changes to the deadlines for
submitting events for the Campus Life email starting in
the fall. The weekly email will go out Friday mornings
instead of Monday mornings, and the deadline for
submitting events will be now Wednesday at 4:30pm
instead of Friday. Below you will see the email that I
normally send at the beginning of each semester with the
revised dates!
For the summer, we will be sending out a Campus Life
email on the FIRST Monday of each month (June 2nd, July
7th and August 4th). Since we are only sending out one a
month, you will really need to think ahead for that
month if there are events or information you would like
posted. The deadline for submitting events for summer
emails is 4:30pm on the previous Friday.
Let me start off by explaining what the Campus Life
email is and how it works. The Campus Life email is a
weekly newsletter that is emailed to every student on
Friday mornings. It includes events and programs
that are sponsored by campus departments, offices or
student organizations that would be of interest to
students. Faculty and staff do not automatically
receive this newsletter! If you would like to receive
it, please let me know and I can add you to the
distribution list. If you are currently getting the
weekly email and want to be deleted from the list,
please let me know that as well. (See the end of this
message for a brief sample of a message sent out last
spring).
For some of you, these instructions will repeat
information from last year but will serve as a reminder.
For the rest of you, this is new information that
hopefully you will find useful. The first edition of the
Campus Life email will go out to students on Friday,
August 29th, so all students will receive it as they
are moving back to campus and before they start classes.
Be sure to think ahead to the first week of classes
and get any information ready that you would like
included in that message.
The
deadline to submit information will be 4:30 every
Wednesday,
and the email will go out
Friday morning. We will only send the email out to
students once a week, so plan ahead to make sure that
your events and programs aren't missed. The Campus Life
email will not be sent during winter or spring break.
All information should be sent to campuslife@uwgb.edu
(that address is located in the global address book
in Outlook). If messages are sent to a staff member
in the Office of Student Life, we cannot guarantee that
they will be included. Please CREATE your messages
using a New Email Message in Outlook. Your email format
must be set to Rich Text. Do the following to set
your email to Rich Text:
From the Outlook main menu: select Tools, Options,
Mail Format, make the change in the area detailed below.
Click on OK.

Please prepare your email message exactly the way you
would want it sent out. Some people are creative with
fonts and colors, and others just want to use plain
text. The choice is yours. I will be sending it out
exactly the way I receive it. Try to keep the length of
your announcement to 15 lines or less. Also, please
DO NOT use any graphics or pictures. If they are
included they will be deleted. Be sure to include
the name of the event, date, time and location along
with other pertinent information. PLEASE be sure to
include who is sponsoring the event and a contact name
and phone number or email address so students can
contact you with questions.
If you have any questions, please let me know! I can
be reached at 465-2200 ext. 40.
Thanks and have a great summer! Don't forget to
scroll down further for a sample Campus Life email
message!

Bascom Hill /We
The Living Concert
May 7, 2007
Phoenix Rooms, 9pm
Bascom Hill describe their sound as “Jack Johnson
meets U2,” with acoustic and electric textures fusing
into a sound that’s both intimate and uplifting. Their
lyrics are elusive in imagery yet direct in emotional
impact; the combination engages bodies and minds,
equally and irresistibly. The loyalty of their fans have
put Bascom Hill on a fast-track concert trajectory in
recent months, as they’ve been called to open for The
Fray, the Gufs, the Pat McGee Band, Hanson, Kenny Wayne
Shepherd, and other headliners.
On campus for the second year in a row, We The
Living, formally known as The Profits, formed in fall of
1999 with Rich, Brian, Erika and Adam. All four had been
playing music for some time, and came together to create
something new. The band works hard and has fun, creating
music with meaning, energy and feeling. They have played
all over the United States at some of the most
well-known punk venues including CBGBs and Gilman St.,
as well as garages, warehouses and basements.
