NEW Partnership for Children and Families
Advanced Training Needs Survey
Welcome to the Advanced Training Needs Survey!
Each year, the NEW Partnership for Children and Families strives to develop relevant trainings for experienced workers in child welfare.
Trainings offered in 2009 were the direct result of feedback gathered from a series of focus groups held around the region with advanced level workers. We appreciate the time and effort of those who participated!
This year, in place of focus groups, we are
conducting a survey
to collect information to assist us in planning advanced worker trainings for 2010. The survey includes a range of broad topic areas with subcategories and two questions that will elicit information on the focus of the trainings. All of the topics and subcategories were taken from your feedback on the training evaluations that were completed within the past year, as well as input from the previous focus groups.
Knowing that we cannot offer all of these valuable trainings, we will use the results of this survey to direct us in planning the most relevant and needed trainings that will be offered in 2010 for advanced level workers. For that reason, we will be asking you to list your top 3 training priorities at the end of the survey.
INSTRUCTIONS:
There are 7 main topic area pages included in this survey, in addition to the brief Demographics and Training Priorities pages:
Mental Health
Substance Abuse
Adolescence/Youth
Legal Issues
Cultural Issues/Diversity
General Practice
Worker Issues
The survey will guide you through the questions and allow you to respond by checking boxes or choosing “other” and listing a brief response in a text box.
There are many training topics, which you will prioritize as you go, and eventually narrow down to your
top 3 trainings
for next year.
IMPORTANT!!! IMPORTANT!!! IMPORTANT!!!
You do not have to check boxes that do not apply
to your current need or interest-
LEAVE THEM BLANK
. This means you
can leave the entire page blank
if you are not interested in training in that topic area.
You have an opportunity
ON EACH PAGE
to list an
“Other”
response
related to the topic area
and choose it as your priority.
All training suggestions (unless added by you) will be listed on the
Training Priorities for 2010
page to refresh your memory and help you
determine the 3 most important trainings
for YOU. You may go back to previous pages if needed. You may enter less than 3 priorities if you choose.
Thank you!
