The Northeastern Wisconsin Teaching American History Program
is a collaborative, intensive, and long-term professional development program for teachers of American history in CESA 7, grades 5-12 in Northeastern Wisconsin's rural and urban public schools.

Our aim:

  • To enhance teaching and learning to raise student achievement.

Our goals:

  • To develop and implement high quality in-service professional development to provide educators with content knowledge and skills to enhance student learning of American history.

  • To create educational materials to implement the benefits of the program and make them available to participants and teachers in Wisconsin so that the program's final products and conclusions can be replicated elsewhere.

  • To establish and maintain professional networks among educators and educational institutions to support the exchange of information and teaching methods in American history.
