2005/06 Annual Report

Kathy Pletcher, Chair, Technology Council

 

Purpose & Membership.     The Technology Council is advisory to the Provost and responsible for developing and monitoring the campus technology plan and recommending technology policies.  The Council is chaired by the Associate Provost of Information Services.  Membership consists of representatives from each of the divisions, three faculty members, and one student.

Activities for 2005/06

  • Developed and approved IT 2007 Action, which outlines activities and projects for implementing Technology Plan 2010 between 2005/06 and 2007/08
  • Reviewed and Approved Academic Computer Lab Plans for 2006/07
  • Approved Guidelines for Computer Lab Accessibility.
  • Approved Guidelines for Online Survey Services and Terms of Use.
  • Sponsored Annual Technology Forum, April 25
  • Provided feedback for Telecommuting Policy
  • Sponsored Student Technology Survey

Value of the Council

The Technology Council members feel that the work of the Council is very important to the campus.  The Council meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters and is very productive.

Goals for 2006/07

The Council has established several goals for 2006/07 academic year:

  • Review progress on the IT 2007 Action Plan
  • Review Acceptable User Policy for Students
  • Review Password Policy for the purpose of improving security of data.
