Present: Craig Hanke, David Kieper, Dan McIver, Kathy Pletcher (chair), Chuck Rybak, Steve Vandenavond, Christine Vandenhouten, Paul Wikgren; ex-officio: Paula Ganyard
Excused: Brenda Amenson-Hill, Scott Furlong, Liz Leist, Mike Marinetti, Sue Mattison, Mike Stearney.

  1. Called to order at 3:30 pm by the chair.
  2. Minutes: Minutes from the April 2012 meeting were approved as written.
  3. Mobile Strategies document: the Council reviewed the document from the Mobile Strategies Working Group. Pletcher specifically reviewed the changes that were made based on the feedback of the Council from the April meeting. Further discussion took place regarding the strategies section. It was suggested that the section be divided in to 3 categories: General, Audience Specific, and Operational. Pletcher will make revisions based on this feedback and then send the document on to the Provost.
  4. Social Media Guidelines for Students: Deryl Block and others from the College of Professional Studies created a set of guidelines regarding social media. The Council reviewed the document and felt that this should remain at the syllabi level rather than be a university-wide policy.
