Requirements. Students who meet the following criteria are given priority for
selection:
U. S. citizen or permanent resident
Low-income or First-generation as defined by the U.S. Department of Education
College-bound Freshman or Sophomore enrolled at Green Bay East, West or Preble High School
At least 13 years of age
2.0 GPA or higher
Need for assistance with college preparation
Willingness and ability to make the time commitment to participate fully in all that Upward
Bound offers from the time of acceptance through high school graduation
Who Can Apply. UW-Green Bay Upward Bound currently serves sixty-five (65) students per
year. Applications for new participants are generally accepted during the second semester
of each school year in anticipation of replacing graduating seniors for the coming school
year. However, students can apply at anytime and be put on a waiting list until space
becomes available. Graduating 8th graders who will be attending Green Bay East, West or
Preble High School the coming school year are eligible to apply as well during that time.
