Q: Does the University ID card work as a credit/debit card at the business?
A: That is exactly how the University ID card works at the off-campus merchant. There will be a separate machine in which the cashier will swipe the University ID card like a credit/debit card and the prepaid pass points will be deducted from the account.
Q: Are more businesses going to be added to the program?
A: We are hoping to expand the program in the future by adding more businesses to the program through suggestions of those individuals that use the program. However, a merchant has to want to be part of the program in order to be added.
Q: Where can I add more pass points to my University ID card?
A: You can purchase pass points through the University ID Services website, at any retail area in the University Union, or at one of our Value Transfer Stations located on the 3rd floor of the Cofrin Library or in the General Access Computer in the IS building.
Q: Where else can I use my pass points?
A: You can use your pass points at the following locations:
Café a la carte
Career Services
Cloud Commons
Computer Labs
Copy Machine and Printing
Corner Store
Garden Café
Health Services
Phoenix Bookstore
Phoenix Club (Dining & Recreation)
Phoenix Sports Center
Residence Hall Laundry
Shorewood Golf Course
University Ticketing and Information Center
Vending Machines
Q: How did you go about choosing what business to carry pass points?
A: The University Union conducted two focus groups, with on and off-campus students and with students from student organizations. We first asked the students to come up with a master list of different categories they typically spend their money at. We next asked students the places in each category that they most frequently spend their money at and made a master copy list of places to contact about whether or not they would be interested in the off-campus merchant program. We also received interest from multiple businesses already associated with the UWGB campus. All in all, the decision was based off of what the students wanted, yet it is then the choice of the business if they would like to join the program or not.
