Mission Statement
The University Union provides the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay community with facilities, services, conveniences, and programs to enhance the quality of university life. More than just a building, the University Union fosters an environment where the campus community may learn outside of the classroom by helping to connect fee time activity with educational study through recreational, social, cultural, governance, employment, and civic involvement opportunities. As the student-focused “living room” and hub of the campus, the Union offers campus information and ID services, dining services, recreational and entertainment areas, events spaces and support, study and lounge areas, event ticketing services, and many other conveniences. It is the goal of the University Union organization to be receptive and responsive to the changing and diverse needs and issues of the campus community.
Role of the University Union
As the center of the college community life, the Union complements the academic experience through an extensive variety of cultural, educational, social and recreational programs.
The Union is a student-centered organization that values participatory decision making. The Union offers first-hand experience in citizenship and educates students in leadership, social responsibilities, and values.
In all its processes, the Union encourages self-directed activity, giving maximum opportunity for self-realization and for growth in individual social competency and group effectiveness. The Union's goal is the development of persons as well as intellects. The Union serves as a unifying force that honors each individual and values diversity. The Union fosters a sense of community that cultivates enduring loyalty to the college. The Union is a member of the Association of College Unions International.
