About UW-Green Bay

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is a comprehensive public institution with an enrollment of approximately 6,700 students, exceptional academic facilities and affordable, high-quality programs.

UW-Green Bay provides a transformative experience to its students, who will learn to examine and solve problems from multiple perspectives and viewpoints. They will work with professors who are experts in their field, both excellent researchers and caring teachers. They will be surrounded by an abundance of learning opportunities — in their classrooms and labs, through online learning, via leadership opportunities and by way of extra-curricular activities and real-world, hands-on experiences including internships, research and independent studies.

UW-Green Bay’s scenic bayshore campus is centrally located, close to both the Door County resort area and the dynamic economies of the New North and Fox Valley regions. The award-winning Cofrin Library, stands at the heart of campus and connects to every academic building via a convenient concourse system. Its eighth-floor provides one of the best views of Green Bay and the surrounding community. Computer resources are excellent, and new or newly renovated classrooms offer the latest in instructional technology. The campus is rich in student life. Among the “extras” are a bayshore park, arboretum and golf course, NCAA Division I athletics led by perennial power women’s basketball, an expanded University Union, premium student housing (every room with a private bath), the elegant Weidner Center for the Performing Arts and the spacious Kress Events Center.

Founded in 1965 and a member institution of the tradition-rich University of Wisconsin System, UW-Green Bay boasts about 33,000 alumni. Graduates live and work worldwide, but many remain in Northeast Wisconsin to serve as the region’s teachers, health care professionals, business people, planners and civic leaders.
