The
Office of Marketing and University Communication is responsible for providing
news and information about the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to audiences
on and off campus. The Office communicates a positive, up-to-date, understandable
image of the University through a wide range of sources. The M/UC staff
prepares and distributes news releases, produces University publications,
and serves the campus community by providing advice on media relations,
marketing, special events and other areas of communication. In addition, the Office is a resource for news media seeking campus sources who can provide expert commentary on newsworthy topics. |

The Office of Marketing and University Communication produces:
Inside UW-Green Bay, a magazine distributed three
times a year to about 20,000 UW-Green Bay alumni and community friends.
Inside highlights University issues, events, people and achievements.
Publications that serve the entire campus, including
undergraduate and graduate catalogs, the student-staff directory and campus
maps.Programs, invitations and other materials for UW-Green Bay events, including Convocation and Commencement. Marketing and University Communication also helps develop concepts and content for special events. • UW-Green Bay’s home page The home page – the front door to the University Web site – contains photographs of UW-Green Bay people and places, a campus profile, news headlines (with links to detailed news releases) and links to other sites of interest to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and the community. • The UW-Green Bay News and Events page The News and Events Web page contains news releases, photos, and links to news articles about UW-Green Bay and a guide to University experts on a wide variety of topics. • The “Connecting learning to life” page This Web page displays the substance behind UW-Green Bay’s campuswide theme of “Connecting learning to life.” The page provides examples of how the University is connecting to the community, its agencies and institutions, businesses and people. Marketing and University Communication provides UW-Green Bay departments and offices with editorial, design and photography services for printed publications and Web purposes. Priority clients include University leadership, the Admissions Office and its recruiting efforts, and the Office of University Advancement. However, Marketing and University Communication services are available – at no cost or limited cost – to departments and offices campuswide. All off-campus printing jobs are channeled through Marketing and University Communication to ensure that printed materials are of high quality, and comply with state printing procedures and pre-press specifications. Materials printed off-campus include brochures, business cards, banners, posters, envelopes, forms, tickets and many other items. The Office also assists departments in preparing and placing advertisements. Marketing and University Communication is a voice for consistency in UW-Green Bay’s message and images, and encourages an integrated marketing approach to telling the University’s story. The Office provides advice on the appropriate use of the UW-Green Bay logo, wordmark, tagline and other representations of the University’s identity. Marketing and University Communication staff members serve on the Universitywide Marketing Council. The Marketing Council, whose members are involved in marketing the University and its programs, developed UW-Green Bay’s “Connecting Learning to Life” image-building plan and oversees the University’s integrated marketing efforts. Web pages and print files are maintained as working, searchable archives of UW-Green Bay news and history. Marketing and University Communication staff members also serve as resources for providing historical perspective to University news and events.
