A big week for clerks, treasurers, UW-Green Bay

The annual Clerks and Treasurers Institute hosted by UW-Green Bay in July at the KI Convention Center again attracted participants from near and far. More than 400 municipal officials took part in the week-long, continuing education program. Pictured here is the first-year clerks class, which consisted of 64 people.
UW-Green Bay’s interim provost, Prof. William Laatsch, addressed the crowd of 255 attendees at the graduation banquet. The UW-Green Bay program, coordinated by the Office of Outreach and Extension, has a 30-year history and is considered one of the largest and most specialized institutes of its kind. The Institute now offers a college credit option through the Public and Environmental Affairs academic unit.

The quality of UW-Green Bay’s annual Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute has been honored by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, which at its annual meeting presented program director Kassie Van Remortel (at left) the group’s 2008 Award of Excellence. That achievement was recognized at the Green Bay session with a presentation ceremony.
