All hands on deck!
Watershed display gets new home
It took a lot of planning, a sense of humor and major muscle to move the watershed display from the eighth floor of the David Cofrin Library to its new home in the Gathering Room of Mary Ann Cofrin Hall last Friday, Dec. 28. Gary Lapacz, a 1978 regional analysis graduate, presented his handcrafted landscape model depicting the Green Bay watershed to the University in 1992. The model's surface depicts much of Eastern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Below is a "before" picture of the display taken with Phuture Phoenix
visitors in the eighth floor lobby, followed by images depicting the steady
progression down the library steps and over to its new home in Mary Ann
Cofrin Hall.

The crew from Operations had to carry the six-by-ten, glass-topped, estimated
600-pound behemoth, down six flights of stairs to the plaza level
of the library before placing it on a cart to be transported to
MAC Hall. |
