UW-Green Bay lauds veterans for
service to country
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay held its annual Veteran Appreciation Reception on Monday (Nov. 12) to laud and thank the men and women of UW-Green Bay who have served their country in the armed forces. About 90 people from the campus and community turned out for the reception in the University Union. UW-Green Bay Chancellor Bruce Shepard presented certificates of appreciation to seven students who recently have returned to the University from active duty.
Lt. Commander Mark Stewart, commander of the Navy Reserve's Green Bay Navy Operational Support Center, was the featured speaker at the reception. He said he greatly appreciated the sacrifice and dedication of service men and women and their families.
Students, faculty, staff and community members turned out for the reception in Phoenix Room C of the University Union.

Elaina Koltz presents a special gift to Jan Snyder. Snyder, university services program associate in the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, has two sons who have served in the military. She also has worked to provide assistance for families of service members in Iraq.
