For Immediate Release: Brittany Brodziski wins UW-Green Bay, state Student Employee of the Year awards
She also helped coordinate a student-only staff for a semester after a retirement left the area without a supervisor. “Brittany has been a great asset to our department,” said Joe Schoenebeck, lab technician supervisor. “She works well with others as an instructor as well as a trainee. She is able to critically think about problems, making me trust her judgment in making sound decisions about organization and safety.” Schoenebeck said the department was ready to go when he was hired and there were very few problems despite it not having a supervisor. Brodziski even did a lot to train Schoenebeck since he arrived, he said. Brodziski's work ethic came from living on a farm, where she helps raise a herd of about 50 Angus beef cattle, she said. Her name was engraved in a plaque that will hang in the Financial Aid and Student Employment Office. Her picture was also placed on a traveling plaque that will be displayed in the Natural and Applied Sciences office for one year. She received an engraved clock to serve as a reminder of how much UW-Green Bay values the time she has given to the University and a certificate. For winning the state award, Brodziski received a certificate and a check for $75. Other nominees for the UW-Green Bay Student Employee of the Year Award included: Amy Brockman, Appleton, office assistant in the Financial Aid office; Rose DeHut, Oconto, Student Research and Teaching Program worker; Ellen Domine, Racine, Academic Advising assistant; Jackie Johannes, Hartland, University Union promotions coordinator and Phoenix Club Manager; Crystal Jushka, Port Washington, University Union building manager; Ben Krumenauer, Green Bay, Bursar's Office student billing clerk; Justin Roskopf, North Fond du Lac, University Union building manager; Ryan Sikma, Oconto, custodial assistant; and Christopher Theis, Hartland, Weidner Center valet.
