         Move-in Day, Fall 2007

Even before the moon disappeared from the horizon, more than 125 faculty, staff and students were stationed throughout Residence Life to give a helping hand to new freshmen and their families.

Patience is a virtue when 700 hundred first-year students move to campus within a few hours. Many staff members and students serve as movers and traffic coordinators.

“Are you kidding me?” Ambassadors thought this trailer was headed for the Union construction site, and were shocked when it pulled up in front of Residence Life. “Relax,” said the parents, “this is for three students.”

These two current students wouldn’t confess to how they got the best
job of the day.

More than 400 students called ahead to have their beds bunked before Move-in Day. For those that didn’t, it was a bit of a wait in the hallway.

How do you fit a kayak in a dorm room? The answer is you don’t.
You drop your son or daughter off at UW-Green Bay, then take a
long-awaited vacation.

Move-in Day marks the final day for the family to be together for some time. Little sisters say good-bye to their big brother. (And, his best friend will miss him too.)

All moved in? It’s time to pay for tuition and parking and find some lunch before parents and students go their separate ways.
