Wenger and Day in Ho Chi Minh City

UW-Green Bay's traveling science ambassadors, Emeritus Profs. Robert Wenger and Jack Day (above, left and right), traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in March for an international seminar on water quality and environmental issues. Day, who has extensive experience in Vietnam on United Nations-sponsored work and as a Fulbright scholar, was a primary organizer of the gathering. Sponsors included Nong Lam University, UW-Green Bay, and the American Society of Civil Engineers-Environmental and Water Resources Institute. Participants included Pham Hong Nhat, of Vietnam, who visited UW-Green Bay in summer 2002 under the auspices of what was then the Asian Visiting Scholars Program, and Li Wei, of China, who spent 2000-2001 here under the same program. Wenger will organize the next international seminar to be held in China in 2009.
