For Immediate Release: UW-Green Bay chancellor search committee named MADISON, Wis. - University of Wisconsin System President Kevin P. Reilly approved a 21-member search and screen committee to help identify the next chancellor for UW-Green Bay.After serving at his post since 2001, Chancellor Bruce Shepard announced last month that he will step down at the end of June to become the next president of Western Washington University. "UW-Green Bay has achieved considerable momentum under Chancellor Shepard's leadership, including a plan to increase enrollment in the near future with an eye to the state's workforce needs and economic priorities," Reilly said. "The next leader must be steadfast in the campus commitment to ambitious pre-college outreach and strong community partnerships." Reilly appointed 11 faculty members, two academic staff members, one classified staff member, and two student representatives to the committee. They are joined by one UW System administrator, one campus assistant chancellor, and three community representatives. The committee will be chaired by Denise Scheberle, professor and chair of the Public and Environmental Affairs academic unit. She has served on the UW-Green Bay faculty since 1992 and received the UW Regents Teaching Excellence Award in 2004. The UW System has concluded three simultaneous chancellor searches, recently naming candidates for the top positions at UW-Madison, UW-Parkside and UW-Whitewater. UW-River Falls is also conducting a search for a new chancellor. Members of the UW-Green Bay Chancellor Search and Screen Committee are as follows:
