For Immediate Release:
Entrepreneur training program starts Feb. 12
GREEN BAY-An intensive 10-week Entrepreneurial Training Program organized by the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Small Business Development Center in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce will begin Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the Business Assistance Center, 2701 Larsen Rd. Classes will be held from 6-9 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays through April 15.
The program goal is to help each participant prepare a comprehensive business plan. In the course of the program, course members will learn how to start business planning, organize and manage business, identify opportunities and market a business, understand and get financials in order, get funding, network with other entrepreneurs, and develop a network with small business support services.
Green Bay consultant Greg Gauthier will teach the course. Gauthier is a graduate of Marquette University with more than 25 years senior management experience in large, publicly traded and small, privately held companies. He was a small business owner for nearly ten years and has particular strengths in operations management and information systems, cash flow and profitability, and business turnaround.
The $250 cost for the ten-week program includes materials and a light supper at each meeting. The cost reflects a Wisconsin Department of Commerce grant that covers 75 percent of the normal $1,000 tuition. Participants must complete a business plan to receive the discount.
