GREEN BAY-Educators in CESA districts 7 and 8 who want to carry out projects to improve the quality of teaching or learning are invited to apply for grants from The Institute for Learning Partnership at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Up to $40,000 will be awarded for 2008-09. All teachers, administrators and other professionals affiliated with CESA districts 7 and 8 are eligible to apply.

Proposals for projects of up to $7,500 will be accepted. Project proposals that explore effective approaches to closing the achievement gap will receive special consideration. The Institute expects to award 10 to 15 projects under $1,500; five to 10 from $1,500 to $3,000; four to six in the $3,000 to $5,000 range; and one to three from $5,000 to $7,000.

The grant application deadline is 4:30 p.m. March 14.

The Institute for Learning Partnership brings together area K-12 educators, universities, colleges, businesses, and community leaders in order to improve learning for all in grades pre-kindergarten through 16.
