For Immediate Release: Folk-rock singer coming to UW-Green Bay GREEN BAY-Singer/songwriter Ellis, a rising star in the independent folk music scene, will perform on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus Saturday, April 5 as part of the Women's Studies and LGBTQ conferences.The event, held at 7 p.m. in Phoenix Room B of the University Union, is free and open to the public. Ellis, a Minneapolis-based musician, plays a joyful, unpretentious acoustic folk-rock style, according to her Web site. Her popularity is growing and she has independently sold more than 30,000 copies of her five albums. She was recently voted "Most Wanted to Return" when performing on the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival preview tour. She was voted Best Musician for five consecutive years and named the 2007 Best Musical Artist by readers of the Minnesota Women's Press, and was nominated as the 2006 Best Female Performer in Campus Activities Magazine.
