Regents appear ready to endorse funds for UW-Green Bay initiatives

UW-Green Bay is in line to receive funding for both the Learning Experience Initiative and a major building renovation if the UW System Regents vote Friday to approve the System's proposed 2001-03 budget. The spending plan was made public this past Monday. In it, UW-Green Bay would gain an additional $3.7 million over the two-year budget period to enhance the student learning experience. Also included, as a capital-budget priority, is the University's plan to renovate and expand the Laboratory Sciences Building, a project that would be completed by fall 2003 at a cost of $17 million. If the Regents vote Friday in Madison to endorse the budget, as expected, it will advance to the Governor and the Legislature for further consideration.
