Alumni reception, reunion of Bennett, 1991 NCAA team are highlights

By now, many of you have heard that a reunion of former Phoenix Coach Dick Bennett and members of the 1991 men's team is among highlights of Alumni Basketball Weekend at UW-Green Bay. Here are details for Saturday, Jan. 13: The men's and women's alumni teams (from all years) begin the day's festivities with 1 p.m. alumni games, the men at the Brown County Arena and the women at the Phoenix Sports Center. In varsity action at the Arena, the Phoenix women host Cleveland State at 3 p.m. and the men play Illinois-Chicago at 7 p.m. The Bar on Holmgrem Way has been designated the between-games gathering place for fans and alumni. At halftime of the evening men's game, returning team members (including Coach Bennett and the 1991 players, the first to earn an NCAA D-1 tournament bid) will be honored. The Phoenix Dunkers and Cage Club booster clubs join the Alumni Association in inviting everyone to a post-game reception in the Arena concourse.

See you Tuesday

A reminder you probably don't need: No school Monday! Observance of the state and federal holiday honoring Martin Luther King Jr. means that all University offices are officially closed for public business. The second semester begins bright and early Tuesday morning.
