Paula Ganyard, library instruction and web resources librarian, and David Dettman, instruction and reference librarian, were recently accepted into the 2001 Wisconsin Regional Immersion Institute. This special program provides in-depth coverage of information literacy and provides the practical tools and strategies librarians need to effectively develop and implement information literacy programs. The four-and-a-half-day immersion program will be held at Edgewood College in early June. A faculty of nationally recognized librarians and scholars are refining the curriculum and will be teaching the program.
Prof. Ismail Shariff, Philip J. and Elizabeth B. Hendrickson Professor for Business/Professor Urban and Regional Studies/Chair Economics, has published a chapter entitled, "Schumpeterian Tradition: An Evolutionary Approach to Economic Development" in the book Economic Theory in the Light of Schumpeter's Scientific Heritage Essays in Memory of Schumpeter on his 50th Death Anniversary, edited by Vittoranelo Orati University of Tuscia, Viterbo, Italy.
