President Lyall issues statement on today's events

UW System President Katharine Lyall has issued a public statement concerning today's apparent terrorist attacks. The statement, which urges UW System faculty, staff and students to remain calm and offer assistance to those who are affected by the tragedy, is online at http://www.uwgb.edu/univcomm/news/archive/2001sep.htm#open. Across the nation, institutional response has varied. A few schools, including the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, have closed for the day. Many others including the UW System and its 26 campuses have issued statements of concern while assuring the public that they will monitor the situation and proceed with scheduled events as best they can.

Ecumenical Center schedules vigil for 7:30 tonight

The Ecumenical Center invites students, faculty and staff to a candlelight vigil tonight (Tuesday, Sept. 11) at the center. The prayer service for victims of today's tragic events will begin at 7:30 p.m.
