'Celebrating Success' diversity program falls victim to ice storm, snow forecastThose interested in the big "Celebrating Success" event planned for tonight (Friday, April 4) are informed it has been cancelled because of bad weather. Pam Harvey-Jacobs, director of Admissions, says logistics make it unlikely the program can be rescheduled. Too bad, because as many as 150 of the area's top students and their parents were expected to attend the dinner and program spotlighting multicultural students nominated by their high school guidance staff or administrators for superior academic achievement and civic engagement. The event was also to have included recognition of those completing the Writing and Research Academy program. Certificates and congratulations from the University will be distributed on an individual basis.
