Sink a 103.1-inch putt, play golf in the Volunteer Center Golf ClassicShorewood Golf Course has "volunteered" to host radio station 103.1 WOGB-FM to promote the upcoming Volunteer Center Golf Classic. WOGB personality Dan Markus will host a live radio show from 6 to 9 a.m. this Thursday (July 21) at the Shorewood Golf Course putting green, inviting listeners out to sink a 103.1-inch (8 feet, 7.1 inches) putt. If they sink it, they will qualify to play with Dan Markus and Don Roberts in the WOGB Volunteer Center Golf Classic. Stop on over at Shorewood on your way into work and participate in the show and contest or tune-in to 103.1 WOGB to listen and see who wins.
Tickets for Bonnie Raitt show go on sale Aug. 6The Weidner Center has announced a Nov. 3 concert by nine-time Grammy winner Bonnie Raitt. Tickets for this one-night-only event will go on sale at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 6 at the Weidner Center Ticket Office. Prices range from $45 to $75. Second 'No Limits' is planned; know of a potential award-winner?Friday, Jan. 20, is the date chosen for the second annual "No Limits - A Celebration of Women & Girls in Sports" event presented by Bellin Health as a Phoenix fund-raiser. Nominations are welcomed for the Eternal Flame award for significant contribution to women and girls in sports, and the Torch award recognizing professional success and a background in competitive or recreational athletics. Remembering Arlie MucksDon't know how we missed this one, but here's belated notice that "Mr. Wisconsin," Arlie Mucks, died March 19 in Madison. He was executive director of the Wisconsin Alumni Association forever (actually, 1962-89), a WWII fighter pilot, a church deacon, a longtime director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce and a million other things.
