Proposal by Chancellor's Cabinet includes some FTE cutsThe budget proposal to be reviewed this Friday represents Cabinet recommendations to the Chancellor for achieving the ongoing portion of budget cuts totaling nearly $850,000 over the next two years. While not as deep as two years ago, the newest round of campuswide cuts again will involve primarily non-instructional areas, as directed by Gov. Doyle. Planners say the impact will be felt in the quality of the overall student experience and some staff reductions in selected areas. Individuals whose positions may be affected in FY 06 have already been notified. * * * * *
TimetableUW-Green Bay is believed to be the first UW System institution to outline its 2005-07 budget plans in a presentation to faculty and staff. While the state Legislature has yet to take formal action on the Governor's budget, campus leadership says the process is far enough along to project UW-Green Bay's share of state GPR (tax funds). Chancellor Bruce Shepard acknowledges not all will be able to attend Friday's forum, but the 2:30 p.m. session is the most immediate opportunity on the calendar without having to wait until after Spring Break. For those who cannot attend, information will be posted later this month on the budget site accessible from the www.uwgb.edu homepage. * * * * *
