Bring your own boxes. * * * * * Softball in Madison, basketball in Belgium Should be a great night for softball in Madison tonight (Friday, May 20) when underdog UW-Green Bay plays highly ranked Oregon State at 7:30 p.m. in the opening game of the NCAA Division I women's softball tournament. Win or lose, the Phoenix will play again Saturday in the double-elimination tourney. The Phoenix women's basketball team continues its European exhibition tour this weekend. They beat a Belgian club team yesterday to make it 2-1 on the tour, and have today off before playing the St. Amand Basketball Club of France on Saturday. UW System budget discussion held over until Tuesday

It took so long to hammer out agreement on $24 million in cuts for the W-2 program that the Legislature's budget-writing Joint Finance Committee had no time left Thursday night to consider the proposed UW System budget for 2005-07. The committee will take up UW System funding on Tuesday (May 24) in Madison.

Softball in Madison, basketball in Belgium

Should be a great night for softball in Madison tonight (Friday, May 20) when underdog UW-Green Bay plays highly ranked Oregon State at 7:30 p.m. in the opening game of the NCAA Division I women's softball tournament.
