Sheepshead hosts a poetry slam

Coordinated by this term's ambitious staff, Sheepshead Review is presenting another major event this summer: A poetry slam! Faculty adviser Rebecca Meacham tells us that fellow faculty member Denise Sweet, Wisconsin's Poet Laureate, will be opening the event and reading her own poetry during intermission. Professors Rosewall, Sutton, and Haynie will be the "celebrity" judges. Poets will compete for prizes, and great drama and fun should be enjoyed by all. This is a fundraising event for the journal, so a nice turnout would be welcome. Details:

Thursday, May 5 - Poetry Slam
Niagara Room B at 7:30pm
Admission $1.00 (goes towards prize)
