UW-Green Bay to offer conversational Spanish for faculty, staff
UW-Green Bay faculty and staff will have an opportunity this fall to take — free of charge — an introductory course in conversational Spanish. The interactive course will provide development of basic Spanish communication skills emphasizing speaking and listening comprehension. Occupational vocabulary specific to University needs also will be included as requested.

First class scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 19
Introductory Conversational Spanish is an eight-week course with two-hour classes once a week. It is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 and 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30, and Dec. 7 and 14. Classes will meet in the Wequiock Room of the University Union.

Experienced instructor to teach Spanish course
Bonnie Granius, a retired Green Bay Area Public Schools teacher with 25 years of experience teaching high school Spanish, will teach Introductory Conversational Spanish. Granius is an instructor in the adult non-credit foreign language program at St. Norbert College. She also teaches Workplace Spanish for the Literacy Council of Brown County.

Course is free for all UW-Green Bay faculty, staff
Introductory Conversational Spanish is open to all campus faculty and staff and is free of charge. The course may be taken during work time, subject to supervisory approval as required. No previous instruction in Spanish language is necessary. The Office of the Chancellor is covering costs of the program.

Online registration for course is available
Faculty and staff interested in enrolling in Introductory Conversational Spanish should register for the course by Wednesday, Oct. 12. To register online, click http://www.uwgb.edu/outreach/events/spanish/.
