Two more things we should tell you about, late on a Friday afternoon:
Mark King gets guest shot on NBC's 'Apprentice'
If you enjoyed December's commencement address by Mark King, UW-Green Bay Class of 1981, or found interesting his profile in last month's Inside UW-Green Bay alumni magazine, you might want to tune in "The Apprentice" this Sunday evening (March 11) on NBC. This week's reward on the business reality-show, our sources tell us, involves a round of golf. The lucky contestants will play with King and a certain friend and business associate — the show's creator, Donald Trump — at Trump's new luxury golf resort in Los Angeles. King is president and CEO of TaylorMade-adidas golf, the sport's largest equipment manufacturer, based near San Diego. Look for King's brief cameo at the end of the hour-long episode. (The show normally airs at 9 p.m. our time on TV-26, but check your schedules.)
UW-Green Bay, Sea Grant host Tuesday session on climate change, runoff
A free public presentation on "Climate Change Impacts on Stormwater" will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, in Phoenix Rooms A and B on campus. What will a changing climate mean for our Great Lakes region? Many scientists expect more frequent intense rainfalls to eastern Wisconsin, stress on stormwater systems, and property damage. Thomas E. Croley II from the Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Mich., will take a look at some future scenarios of climate effects on the Great Lakes using the latest climate models available. Ken Potter from the UW-Madison Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering will discuss several ways to manage stormwater in Wisconsin's changing climate. See http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/climateChange for details and updates.
