The search committee will be chaired by Denise Scheberle, professor and chair of the Public and Environmental Affairs academic unit. She has served on the UW-Green Bay faculty since 1992 and received the UW Regents Teaching Excellence Award in 2004. The committee includes 11 faculty members, two academic staff members, one classified staff member, and two student representatives to the committee. They are joined by one UW System administrator, one campus assistant chancellor, and three community representatives.
Riley emphasizes community partnerships, development as keys
UW System President Kevin Riley says UW-Green Bay's new chancellor should be prepared to follow up on Bruce Shepard's work since 2001. "UW-Green Bay has achieved considerable momentum under Chancellor Shepard's leadership, including a plan to increase enrollment in the near future with an eye to the state's workforce needs and economic priorities," Reilly said. "The next leader must be steadfast in the campus commitment to ambitious pre-college outreach and strong community partnerships."
Regents subcommittee includes former trustee, three UW-Green Bay alumni
Following an intensive search and screening process, the committee is expected to recommend five candidates as finalists for consideration by Reilly and a special Board of Regents committee chaired by Regent Judy Crain of Green Bay. Other Regents on the committee include Mary Quinnette Cuene, Michael Falbo, Eileen Connolly-Keesler and Betty Womack. Cuene (Class of '88) and Connolly-Keesler '82 are UW-Green Bay graduates, Falbo earned teaching certification here, and Crain is a former member of the Chancellor's Council of Trustees.

First meeting is June 11
The campus search committee will convene for the first time at 10 a.m., June 11, in Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts on the UW-Green Bay campus. At that meeting Crain and Reilly will officially charge the committee with its mission and roles, review procedures and launch the search process.
