'Degrees of Excellence': UW-Green Bay celebrates 25,000
On Thursday (May 15) readers of the Green Bay Press-Gazette and Appleton Post-Crescent will find a special insert celebrating UW-Green Bay and its alumni. A 16-page section highlights the milestone of Graduate No. 25,000 receiving his or her degree at Saturday's commencement. The tab profiles 25 noteworthy alumni and the way UW-Green Bay contributes to our world, one graduate at a time. Extra copies will be available at Saturday's ceremony. For a sneak online preview, check http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/

Website highlights people, photos, history
The University's "Degrees of Excellence" site for the 25,000th graduate celebration features:
• Mini-profiles of interesting alumni, from Tony Bennett to Gina Wagner, at http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/featured/
• Vintage photos from commencements past, with special attention to the long-hair '70s and the big-hair '80s, at http://www.uwgb.edu/alumni/photogallery/history/
• Various '25's' including 25 great faculty teachers, at http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/top25/award.html
• 25 most popular Weidner Center shows, http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/top25/weidner.html
• 25 memorable sports moments, http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/top25/sports25.html
• The (nearly) 25 alumni who teach on campus, and more, at http://www.uwgb.edu/25000/top25/facts.html

Who will be No. 25,000?
It will be determined by place in line. Officials have a pretty good guess, but they won't know for sure until Saturday. When the moment arrives, the ceremony will stop only briefly, so No. 25,000 can receive a gift pack from the Alumni Association. The presentation will be made by Nancy Deprey. On June 1, 1970, Deprey - then Nancy Ably and first in line by alphabetical order - received UW-Green Bay's first bachelor's degree (in regional analysis).
